Music for Dementia 2020

Lauren Laverne M4D2020 Ambassador

Lauren Laverne announced as our new M4D2020 Ambassador

We are delighted to announce that BBC TV and radio presenter Lauren Laverne has been appointed as the ambassador for the Music for Dementia 2020 campaign.

Lauren will be hugely influential in helping to raise awareness and understanding of the benefits music can have on the quality of life for people living with dementia.

We are thrilled to have her on board!

What types of musical activity could I do?

There are a variety of different ways to engage in music when you are living or caring for a person with dementia.

  1. Listen to music, turn on the radio, sing together.
  2. Create a playlist with someone and listen to it together.
  3. Experience and participate in live music making.
  4. Work with a music therapist.
  5. Ask all care workers to make music a part of the daily care plan.

Whatever you choose to do, make music a part of your daily life!
